Curved & Arc Text Generator

Design circular logos, badge seals, and wave typography in a full-width visual editor. Export editable SVG, transparent PNG, or Cricut-ready outline paths — free, no signup.

What is Curved Text?

Curved text flows along a vector path — a circle, arc, wave, or ribbon — instead of a straight line. It is the standard technique for logo rings, wax seals, brewery badges, wedding monograms, and craft vinyl decals. Unlike Unicode copy-paste tools, this generator produces real vector artwork you can export and edit.

Curved Text vs. Circular Text

Circular text wraps a full 360° loop (choose Full Circle or Oval). Arc text covers a partial sweep — typically 120° to 180° — for headlines above or below a logo mark. Badge mode combines a top arc and bottom arc with a center emblem for seal-style layouts.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is curved text?

Curved text (also called arc text or text on a path) follows a curved line instead of a straight baseline. It is used for circular logos, badge seals, stamps, social graphics, and craft projects where text wraps around a shape. Our generator uses SVG textPath so your design stays crisp at any size.

What is the difference between curved text and circular text?

Circular text is a full 360° loop around a circle — like a wax seal or vinyl record label. Curved or arc text covers a partial sweep (for example a 180° top arch for a logo header). Both are supported here: choose Full Circle, Top Arc, Bottom Arc, or Double Arc badge mode.

How do I export curved text for Cricut Design Space?

Use the Outline SVG (Cricut) export. Cricut cutters need vector paths, not editable text. Standard SVG with textPath may require manual conversion in Inkscape. Our outline export uses opentype.js to convert glyphs to cut-ready paths along your arc. Import the .svg file into Design Space and attach layers before cutting.

What is the difference between Editable SVG and Outline SVG?

Editable SVG keeps text as SVG textPath elements — perfect for Figma, Illustrator, or web use where you may change wording later. Outline SVG converts every letter to path outlines — required for vinyl cutters, laser engravers, and workflows that do not support live text.

Can I create a badge with text on top and bottom?

Yes. Select Double Arc (Badge) shape or apply a preset like Coffee Roasters Seal or Wedding Monogram. Enter top arc text and bottom arc text separately, add a center symbol or monogram, and toggle outer/inner rings and flank stars for a professional seal look.

Does this tool support transparent PNG export?

Yes. Enable Transparent Canvas Background in the Canvas tab, then export PNG at 1×, 2×, or 4× resolution. Transparent PNGs work great as overlays for Instagram stories, YouTube thumbnails, and print mockups.

Which fonts work with Cricut outline export?

Outline export supports Google Fonts included in the editor (Montserrat, Playfair Display, Bebas Neue, Cinzel, Great Vibes, Sacramento, Lobster, Press Start 2P). System fonts like Inter use editable SVG export instead. Always verify font licensing for commercial print and craft resale.

How do I move, resize, or rotate my design?

Use the on-canvas handles: blue for move, green for resize (arc radius), yellow for rotate. You can also nudge position with arrow keys (Shift + arrow for larger steps). Undo and redo are in the top toolbar with Ctrl+Z / Ctrl+Y shortcuts.

Is my design saved automatically?

Yes. Your work autosaves to localStorage in your browser under the key curved-text-autosave-v1. Nothing is uploaded to a server. Clear browser data to reset, or click Reset in the toolbar to restore defaults.

Can I use curved text for social media graphics?

Absolutely. Export a transparent PNG at 2× for sharp Instagram, TikTok, or Facebook graphics. Wave and Ribbon shapes work well for quote graphics. Badge presets are ideal for profile logos and watermark stamps.

Is this curved text generator free?

Yes — 100% free, no account, no watermark. All rendering and export runs in your browser. Editable SVG, PNG, JPEG, and Cricut outline SVG exports are included at no cost.
